Shrublands of Wighton

Welcome to: Shrublands of Wighton

A Caravan and Motorhome Club ‘CL’ Site

Our Caravan and Motor Club Certificated Location is licensed for 5 touring vans and is open to Members of the Caravan & Motorhome Club only. Shrublands is located in the picturesque North Norfolk Village of Wighton, just over 2 miles from the coastal town of Wells-Next-The-Sea. The site is in a sheltered position surrounded by Hawthorne trees with each pitch separated by hedges giving some personal privacy but still permitting social contact with other members where required.
All pitches are ‘serviced’ (dedicated Power & Water points). We have a shower and a toilet on site.

Shrublands, in common with all CL sites, is only able to take bookings from Caravan and Motorhome Club Members and is limited to 5 Pitches. We have a ‘no dogs policy’ but assistance dogs, with their owners, are welcome.

The site covers approximately 1 acre of flat grassed land and the pitches are placed around the hedgerow which surrounds and shelters the site. Each pitch is separated from its neighbours by maintained hedges, giving some welcome privacy but allowing socialising if desired. Electric hook-up points and fresh water taps are installed on all pitches and separate shower and toilet rooms are on site.

The local area is designated as “an area of outstanding natural beauty” and offers many places of interest that will satisfy all vacational tastes. Activities include: bird watching, walking, cycling, boating, horse riding, visiting stately homes, private collections and wildlife parks. Or, just relax on the many spacious sand dunes and beaches.

The Carpenter’s Arms is only 5 minutes walk from Shrublands.

An hourly bus service stops within 50mtrs of the site and there is a public foot/ cycle track from within 75 metres of Shrublands to Wells-Next-The-Sea.

Whilst driving on site please restrict your speed to 5mph

Shrublands is ideally located for access to all the coastal bird reserves of which Cley and Titchwell (RSPB) are probably the better known. However, within just a few miles the coastal marsh areas including: Weybourne. Salthouse, Blakeney, Morston, Burnham Overy, Burnham Deepdale, Brancaster, Holme-Next-The-Sea, Stiffkey, Thornham, Snettisham and Hunstanton also offer superb bird watching opportunities all year. Pensthorpe bird sanctuary and the Sculthorpe Moor Hawk & Owl Trust (Both featured on Spring and Autumn Watch) are also only 7 miles away.

With its meandering tracks, quiet roads and designated cycle routes (some pass directly by), Shrublands is an excellent starting point for walkers and cyclists alike. There is also an hourly scheduled bus service ‘from the door’ to Wells, Fakenham and further afield.

For those visiting the shrines at Little Walsingham, Shrublands is only one and a half miles away so is ideally positioned to provide a short break with easy access to the Walsingham events. Likewise, Shrublands is particularly well placed to visit the Thursford Steam Museum, only 4 miles away.
